Privacy Policy
Wink collects the minimum needed to send pictures between friends. This page lists exactly what that is.
What we store
- Account: your email address (only to sign you in), a password hash (never the password), your username, display name, preferred language, and an optional profile picture.
- Friends: who you requested, accepted, removed or blocked, and when.
- Pictures: the pictures you send, a caption if you add one, who they were sent to, when, and whether they were seen. Location data and other metadata are stripped from every picture on upload.
- Reactions and replies on pictures.
- Device tokens so we can send you a notification when a friend sends a pic. These are anonymous identifiers issued by Apple or Google, not your phone number.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. There are no ads and no analytics trackers in the app.
- We do not read your contacts. Friends are found by username only.
- We do not use your pictures for anything except delivering them to the friends you chose.
Who can see your pictures
Only the friends you selected when you sent them. Links to picture files are signed and expire; there is no public URL. Someone you block can no longer find you or send you anything.
Where the data lives
On servers we operate. Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging, which receive your device token and the notification text (a friend's name and the caption).
How long we keep it
- Pictures stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- Deleting your account removes your profile, friendships, pictures, reactions, replies and device tokens. Backups age out within 30 days.
Your choices
- Delete any picture you sent, from inside the app.
- Turn notifications off in your phone settings at any time.
- Remove your profile picture, change your name or username, in Settings.
- Delete your account, or ask for a copy of your data: email devhadiab@gmail.com from your account's email address.
Children
Wink is not for children under 13. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the app tells you. Questions: devhadiab@gmail.com.
